What Was Your First Introduction to Fragrances?

I vividly remember being a young girl in junior high school, carefully putting my outfits together. At that age, fashion was my first form of self-expression. I gravitated toward patterns and soft, feminine colors like pastels, pinks, blush tones, and purples. Every piece I wore felt like a reflection of who I was becoming.

My introduction to fragrance came even earlier, back in elementary school. It started with body mists from Bath & Body Works and scented lotions; simple, playful, and exciting. As I grew older, I was introduced to perfume, and that’s when everything changed.

My first true perfume set was a Christmas gift from my aunt: Emporio Armani Diamonds. The set included a 3.4 oz Eau de Parfum, along with a matching deodorant, powder, and lotion. I remember opening the box and feeling special, as if I had been entrusted with something sacred. I only wore Diamonds for special occasions. It felt too special to wear on as a signature scent. (However, now I wear my scents as I please). Life is too short to wait to wear your fragrance for the perfect moment. You are the perfect moment.

Thinking back on it, the memory feels nostalgic. I can still picture lifting the clear, diamond-shaped bottle from its packaging, the glow of the Christmas tree lights reflecting off the glass.

Not long after, I received another fragrance set: Queen by Queen Latifah. This set featured a red, heart-shaped 1.7 oz bottle, paired with a scented body oil, body butter, and body wash. The scent was beautiful, sweet, soft, and shy, yet undeniably bold. Wearing it made me feel powerful. Queen truly made me feel like a queen every time I sprayed it on. Unfortunately, this fragrance is now discontinued.

There’s something special about the morning ritual: stepping out of the shower, gathering your things, and just before heading out the door, applying your invisible accessory. Those final moments before starting your day carry so much power.

From there, my fragrance collection continued to grow. Each scent became more than just a perfume; it was confidence, energy, aura, and light. Fragrance became a part of who I am.

And now at this moment, I am honored to introduce this form of self-care to my daughter. There’s something powerful in choosing a fragrance based on how you want to feel, and the aromatherapy and a bit of ASMR after that first spritz. The burst of notes hitting your pulse notes and clothing. The fact that I get to experience that with my daughter every morning before school, with fragrances that I’ve carefully crafted with love, is a monumental moment to me.

Smelling good and feeling good is more than a routine; it’s a feeling, an experience. It’s the same feeling I discovered years ago, one I now want to recreate and elevate for others. Imagine having access to a thoughtfully curated collection of fragrances that don’t just smell beautiful, but are handcrafted with intention and made using cleaner, more conscious ingredients. Each scent is designed to make you feel confident, connected, and you! When your fragrance aligns with how you feel, it becomes more than a scent; it becomes a part of your story.

That was my introduction to fragrance.
